Trash Collector

Sticky Caterpillar (Synchlora sp.)

Caterpillars of some species of emerald moths have a sticky substance on their bodies and adorn themselves with bits of flowers for camouflage.

  1. Gosh seeing this and reading how they "adorn" themselves with bits of flowers makes me ask: "How can anyone ever think other species have no intelligence?" Survival skills are just such a remarkable thing to observe. Great photo Marvin!!!
