It's Strawberry Season!

Jo picked our first strawberries of the season and weeded our two strawberry beds. Later, she baited the electric fence with peanut butter. I installed the cages around our tomatoes and removed the grass from around the electric fence posts. It's time for us to convince -- try to convince -- the deer that our garden is not a good place to browse.

  1. While out birding this weekend I saw several gardens out in the country that had fences around their veggie gardens. I wish you luck with keeping the critters away. Those strawberries look yummy. Seeing your berries notifies me that ours will be ready soon. Ours run a little behind yours.

I have never before heard of baiting electric fence. Interesting! Hope it works for you.

  3. Good luck with the deer--those strawberries would tempt me, too! *L*

Sorry for my recent absence, btw. Nothing but problems with my brand new, WinBLOWS 7 computer. :(

  5. Hey, just kidding, but if you crank the current on that electric fence up high enough you might be able to fill your freezer with some yummy deer meat...
