Daffodil Blooms

The daffodils out in the woods at the edge our yard are finally blooming. The first opened on the last day of February, but gusty wind prevented me from taking photos for a couple of days.

They're blooming here too - I love driving down the 2 lane roads and seeing some along the edges where farmsteads used to be...

That looks just wonderful - and about 6 weeks from now here in the Northeast.

THis makes me want to go out to see if we have any buds yet. It makes me feel warmer just seeing all that yellow.

I anxiously await seeing the first daffodil in bloom. Gardening Daughter, who has hundreds of them in her yard, usually has the first blooms in this area. She lives on top of a hill; maybe her plants are closer to the sun than mine. :)

My favorite sign of spring.

My daffodils are just buds--still too early for us--maybe in a week. Thanks for the id on the pupae.

We have one bloom here on the south side of the house, but no sun. Lots of buds so I guess it won't be long, except to forecast is for 33 and snow showers by Sunday. March!

We're not really close to daffodil blooming time, but the stores sell them in March. I planted a lot of bulbs last fall. We'll see what blooms. I've had no luck with them in the past.
