Garden 2011: Planting Potatoes

Jo planted potatoes on St. Patrick's day, our first planting for Garden 2011. We always divide gardening chores equally: Jo plants and I photograph and document her work.

Potatoes like lots of mulch.  Fortunately, this bed had mulch remaining from last fall.  As the potatoes sprout and grow, I'll need to apply more mulch.

  1. Jo looks pleased to be getting the potatoes in. You are such a funny boy. I know you do something in the garden other than photographing the garden and your bride. It is fun to see your serviceberry and dogwood blooming. Ours won't be far behind.

  3. I've attempted to grow a few potatoes in my (hah!)garden, but had no luck. Bad spot, bad soil, bad tending? Unfortunately, there is no division of duties when it comes to my yard/garden; I'm it!
