Dandelion at Gilbert, AR

My first wildflower of 2014. Yeah, I'm easy. I'll take any bit of color I can get during the middle of winter, even a "lowly" dandelion.  This one was blooming in Gilbert, AR.  Jo and I found it while taking our New Year's Day hike along the Buffalo National River.

  1. I am sure this spot of yellow made your heart soar. It will soon be covered with snow I would imagine. Enjoy it while you can.

  2. Yes, snow falling as I write this on 1/5/14 morning. Accumulation amounts still uncertain, but very cold temperatures forecast to follow snow, so melting will not be quick.

  3. Amazing! The common dandelion surely brings joyful color to the world.

Hope you and Jo stay warm during this Arctic blast.
