Tuesday Ice

We received just a little taste of freezing rain Tuesday morning. A new cold front moved through with rain ahead of it. Rain and below freezing temperatures overlapped for only an hour or so -- and , fortunately, the ground was still warm enough that no ice formed there. Only objects up off the ground received a thin coating of ice.

If the forecast is correct, we may not be so lucky later in the week. Another blast of Arctic air is headed our way. NOAA says freezing rain is supposed to start falling Thursday night and continue through early Saturday. I hope they're wrong. It's hard to imagine keeping electrical power with that much freezing rain. We'll see.

Those ice covered seedheads are very pretty Marvin. I hope you don't lose power during the ice storm if it hits. We have a coating of ice too. I will be slippin and slidin into work today.

These are pretty. But I'll show you ice, a bit later, when I put my area up. Eeeeeeeeeek! ,-)

I do hope you don't get what's forecast. It's still above freezing here now. But I worry about what the night will bring.

Such wonderful photos. Even though it's cold & it sucks, ice has a wonderful effect on everything it touches (except me.) I hope the bad weather passes you by!

As long as the ice doesn't cause problems, it's a great subject for photography. Your ice photos are perfect!

Hey Marvin. I am beginning to worry about you. I am hoping you are at a big art show making some money. Or on vacation catching some sun rays or fish rays. I hope you and/or Jo haven't caught a flu bug.
