Did you eat them? I hear they are terrific, but I have never tasted them, or really even hunted for them. However, I have encountered several people in our state nature preserves looking for morels that shouldn't have been doing that!
We've eaten morels we've collected, but neither Jo nor I is very good at spotting them -- and the dogs are hopeless. We never seem to find enough at one time to make it worth the time and effort to dirty a skillet, so we usually just leave them in the woods.
I've never seen them, never heard of them or tasted them. They look like brains. What a wonderful photograph of them. I love blogs because of things like this.

I have seen people out looking for them but no one has reported finds yet. I bet they will this week. It is really warm here today.

Great photo as usual.
I can't bring them in the house. Martha is really allergic to a lot of the mushrooms and fungi. I just photograph them and leave them also.
Thanks for sharing this great photo.
