Daliesque Lichen

Is surrealism on the rocks?

This lichen reminds me of one of Salvador Dali's clocks melting over the edge of a table.

Dali's melting clocks. Perfect. I don't think I have seen this before unless this is a macro shot? If it is then I don't remember lichen here being that white. I guess it is too cold to go outside and look.

You might like to come over and read about Charley.

Great picture! It does remind me of that melting clock picture. It was painted on the wall of my highschool Spanish class.

Just slap some numbers & arms on that baby & I believe you're right. It also reminds me of the lunar surface. Very surreal & cool.

Abe: That lichen is a couple of inches in diameter. I used to think that the white lichens were dead and dried out, but have recently discovered that they are just a different species. They are less common around here than the lichens that are green and leafy.

I checked out Charley, but due to the dial up blues couldn't even come close to loading the blog. I put it into my reader and will go back an look at the post one at a time when I get a chance. Thanks.

Stacie: Spanish class in high school was a surreal experience for me as I remember it.

Lana: Lunar surface works too. I don't imagine Dali did much wandering in the woods seeking inspiration for his paintings.

Wow! Beautiful!

And I prefer your Lichen, to Salvador Dali's stuff.
