Melting: Snow Removal the Old Fashioned Way
Sunshine and temperatures in the upper forties lead to much snow melting on Friday. Above is the worst section of our driveway. It never receives any sunshine. With a little weight in the rear of the bed of our little pickup truck, I'm pretty sure we could make a trip out, but since we have no where we need to go, we didn't try.
With the low angle of winter's sun, even a slight change in the road's tilt or direction can make a big difference in whether or not it receives sunshine and melts the snow. Above is the beginning of the section shown in the top photo.

We're melting down here, too. Temperature right now is 51. It won't be long until it's gone.
Our area is in a meltdown too. It feels good to see some grass here and there again.
We are melting slowly too. But it seems a long time until spring.
Looks like spring.
Love these sights! Wow, how long is your driveway?? (I'm envious!)
Oh my goodness...I wish.. it is 5 degrees and we must have well over 2 feet of snow...I have to keep the bird feeders going.....stay warm Marvin....Michelle
Jeannette: It's .8 of a mile to my closest neighbor, 1.5 miles to the main county road and 2.5 miles to blacktop. Technically, our driveway is a county road. The county never does any routine maintenance, but when called they will eventually take care of any serious problems.
